Terminator Dark Fate doesn’t go off the rails like the last 3 Terminator sequels. Despite flirting with the idea many times throughout the film. The idea of introducing an entirely new alternate timeline set after the events of T2: Judgment Day keeps the sequel from crapping all over the first two films like the other films did.
Gabriel Luna’s Rev-9 is the best new adversary introduced since Robert Patrick’s T-1000 Liquid Terminator from Terminator 2.
Mackenzie Davis Grace character is good but overshadowed by Linda Hamilton’s return to the role of Sarah Connor.
The action is good but nothing new. Dark Fate plays it pretty safe despite introducing the idea of alternate timelines and a shocking intro.
In the end, it’s a good film but not a great one. It’s a film that is a suitable way to end the franchise and hopefully will not spawn retread sequels.
