Andy Serkis Is Our New Alfred Pennyworth

From Klaw in Black Panther to directing Venom 2 and now starring as Alfred Pennyworth in Matt Reeves The Batman, actor/director Andy Serkis sure is covering all of his comic book bases!

Per IGN:

Reeves took to Twitter to share the message “And here comes Alfred!” with footage of Serkis running down a red carpet high-fiving fans.

Serkis and Reeves previously worked together on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes. And Deadline says that Colin Farrell is in talks to play the villainous Penguin.

The news of Serkis’ and Farrell’s possible casting rounds out an already star-studded cast. The film also stars Robert Pattinson as the titular crimefighter. Most recently, Westworld actor Jeffrey Wright was confirmed to be playing Gotham Police Commissioner Gordon. Paul Dano (12 Years a Slave, There Will Be Blood) has been named as the Riddler, Zoe Kravitz (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Big Little Lies) is starring as Catwoman.
