The LGBTQ moment in Rise of Skywalker comes near the film’s end, when two female members of the Resistance share an exuberant kissduring a celebration sequence. They are minor characters and not heavily featured in the film though. Skywalker’sdirector, J.J. Abrams, had hinted that such a moment would be coming.
Now before some of you go “Order-66” on this being included in the film, it’s literally described as a blink and you miss it scene. Much like the gay dancers at the end of Beauty and the Beast. But also at the end of the day, who friggin cares. It’s not like they are out there explaining their agenda or converting wookies to homosexuality. JJ Abrams said in an interview it’s a big moment for the galaxy at the end of the film and everyone should be included.
At the end of the day, it’s two minor characters in the background sharing a kiss. NO ONE CARES. What we should be caring about is if JJ will give Luke a proper send off…cuz Last Jedi was ass. I said it and I won’t take it back!!!!!
