“Joke’s On You,” because Charlotte Lawrence is done playing the fool, but her fans can play the video for her new single out today (Feb. 7) from Birds of Prey: The Album, the all-female accompanying soundtrack of Margot Robbie’s highly-anticipated Birds of Prey film. 

“Joke’s On You” has the modern swagger of Lesley Gore‘s No. 2 Hot 100 hit “You Don’t Own Me” and talks about taking back control in her toxic relationship. 

“The joke’s on you/ The joke’s on you/ God knows I’ve tried to be kind/ But I won’t just lay down and die/ Wearing a fake smile/ The joke’s on you,” Lawrence’s breathy vocals threaten in the chorus with haunting harmonies echoing in the background.
