Playstation’s The Last of Us didn’t just change gaming, it revolutionized it. The game has won countless awards and to many has been hailed as the game of the decade. It’s cinematic scenes blended seamlessly into it’s gameplay. Players control Joel, a smuggler tasked with escorting a teenage girl, Ellie, across a post-apocalyptic United States. The Last of Us is played from a third-person perspective. Players use firearms and improvised weapons, and can use stealth to defend against hostile humans and cannibalisticcreatures infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus. With rumors of an HBO series on the horizon, we at HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience thought now would be the best time to do a fancast of the game.

Gerald Butler as Joel

To be the smuggler Joel you need a burly man who can be a caring father figure one moment and an aggressive survivalist the next.

Sadie Sink as Ellie

It’s a shame the Last of Us hasn’t been adapted yet because there have been many girls who would have been great in the role of Ellie. But if we are looking for someone who has attitude and spunk in spades, look no further than Stranger Things Sadie Sink who plays Max on the popular Netflix show.

Josh Holloway as Tommy

Holloway was a great smug character on the popular ABC series, Lost and he’s just a likable guy. So why not cast him in the role of Uncle Tommy. Plus, he looks just like the game character.

Lena Heady as Tess

A hardened survivor, she was the long-term “partner” of Joel. The pair made their living as smugglers; they traded with survivors outside of the city. She had a “dog-eat-dog” philosophy similar to Joel. So why not cast Game of Thrones Lena Heady as the badass female of The Last of Us.

That’s who we would cast in a proposed The Last of Us (and before you start bitching I know I left out characters like Marlene, Bill, David, etc. But I just downloaded The Last of Us 2 and I really want to get back to playing.) but who would you cast?
