Female Wrestler, Tessa Blanchard Fired From Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling has fired former World Champion, Tessa Blanchard. Blanchard has officially been stripped of the title.

Impact Wrestling had this to say about Blanchard’s termination with the company:

“Impact Wrestling confirmed that it has terminated its relationship with Tessa Blanchard and stripped her of the Impact Wrestling World Championship.”

Tessa has been quarantined in her Mexican residence since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, slated to return to the promotion to defend her title at Slammiversary on July 18. She had been set to send taped promos for episodes of television to set up the five-way title match, but she never did, forcing the company to rework segments of their show on short notice. Blanchard has been a subject of contention throughout the year, with social media messages from former co-workers accusing her of racism just before she was set to win the gold at Hard to Kill this past January.

Daga, Blanchard’s fiance, is also quarantined in Mexico but still currently signed to a “multi-year” IMPACT contract as of this writing.

Blanchard made history with Impact when she became the first female World Champion. She single-handedly carried the troubled wrestling promotion that has struggled heavily over the past couple of years.

Since Blanchard was fired she is now free to sign with any wrestling promotion. Despite Blanchard having a ton of great matchup possibilities in WWE, expect Tony Kahn of AEW to make a run at her services. After all, AEW already has her dad, Tully Blanchard under contract.
