Hayden Christensen Is Returning To Star Wars?!?

Actor Hayden Christensen who played Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels will be returning to the role in Disney+ series based on Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi. This will be the first time actor Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan) and Christensen have worked together since Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith.

In the past, Christensen’s downplayed the possibility of a Star Wars comeback, but he did have a voiceover cameo in The Rise of Skywalker. And even though Lucasfilm has now ended the Skywalker saga, they are still working on projects adjacent to that narrative, meaning there is still a chance Christensen could play Anakin in live-action again depending on how things play out. Some have looked at the Obi-Wan TV show as a good place for Christensen. The only question now is: Will Christensen be pulling double duty as both Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader?

According to LRM, Christensen is going to be a “regular” on the Obi-Wan show, implying he’ll have a substantial role. The idea was to announce this at the now-cancelled Star Wars Celebration 2020, so assuming this is true, it remains to be seen when Lucasfilm will officially confirm this.

With the Disney+ show set to explore Obi-Wan’s personal trauma, it wouldn’t be surprising if he was still haunted by his failure and had flashbacks about his experiences with Anakin. What’s interesting is that Christensen is said to have a principal role on the show, so if he does return, he’ll factor heavily into the main storyline. Obi-Wan is going through rewrites, so it’s difficult to predict what the narrative will entail.

Now it is worth noting this is all still speculation at this time but the odds of it happening are extremely likely at this point.
