New Look At Godzilla Vs Kong

We got some new Godzilla Vs Kong toys images from the toy company, Playmates that not only shows us our first look at the new Kong, but also some amazing art of Godzilla squaring off against Kong while on top of a large aircraft carrier. Check out the images below:

Now what’s interesting to note is the arm injury inflicted on Kong but also his battle axe. You have to remember, while Godzilla is a creature of immense power, Kong has to make up for that using his brain. If you remember in Kong Skull Island, Kong made makeshift weapons to battle the Skullcrawlers. The battle axe that Kong will use to face off against Godzilla looks to be made of a giant tree trunk with some shards of Godzilla’s spikey dorsal plates. Perhaps during the fight Kong is able to rip off a few of the spikes and he’s able to make it into a weapon. Along with the new images we also have a new synopsis which you can read below:

In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages.

The film is directed by Adam Wingard. A sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island, it is the fourth film in Legendary‘s MonsterVerse. The film is also the 36th film in the Godzilla franchise, the 12th film in the King Kong franchise, and the fourth Godzilla film to be completely produced by a Hollywood studio. The film stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir.

Godzilla vs. Kong is scheduled to be released on May 21, 2021, after being delayed from a November 2020 release date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
