COVID-19 continues to punish the entertainment industry in 2020. Disney, Universal, MGM, and Sony already threw in the towel and Warner Bros might be next.
Warner Bros. may be further delaying some of its upcoming theatrical releases. Earlier today in an investor conference, AT&T CFO John Stephens commented on the company’s upcoming film slate. He stated “I am not certain where those are going to go,” suggesting possible “further delays in some of the titles.”
The possibility of new theatrical delays are due to WarnerMedia’s recent company reorganization initiative, which has included massive layoffs. While these possible delays may only affect other Warner Bros. films, such as Wonder Woman 1984 and Dune, there is a chance that Godzilla vs. Kong could have its release date shifted once again.
