It all started with a sex tape. From these bootleg beginnings rose an empire. Like the Lannister family from Game of Thrones, the Kardashian brood rose to power off the ass of Kim K. From failed marriages, to ex’s becoming a woman, to rob becoming fat and then skinny again and yes even through 10 different stages of Kylie Jenner’s face, E!’s long-running reality television series, Keeping up with the Kardashians is coming to an end.
“After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and several spin-off shows, we’ve decided as a family to end this very special journey,” a joint statement read. “We are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years — through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”
The statement, provided to CNN by E!, was signed by matriarch Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Scott Disick.
The show, which premiered in 2007, has remained a stalwart for E! and spawned several spin-off series. It has provided the family a platform for multiple successful business ventures, including fashion and beauty lines and a mobile video game.
A new season will premiere September 17 and its final season will air in 2021.
