Composer Thomas Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL, is currently working hard to finish up the score for Zack Snyder’s Justice League coming to HBO Max in 2021. The theme for the League titled “Beacon of Hope” was originally set for the theatrical release until director Joss Whedon brought in Danny Elfman to compose an entirely new score. Elfman’s score wasn’t a bad score by any means, and even incorporated classic Batman and Superman themes. But ultimately, like the film itself, the score was inconsistent with the previous DC Films.
Now, Junkie XL returns to reteam with the film’s original director, Zack Snyder, to complete his vision of the film. The snippet that the composer plays above captures more of the feel Snyder had established. Check out the clip above now.
