First Look: Robert Kirkman’s Animated Adaptation Of “INVINCIBLE”

INVINCIBLE is an adult animated superhero series that revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems. From Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead. Coming to Prime Video in 2021.

In January 2019, Steven Yeun,J. K. Simmons,Sandra Oh,Mark Hamill,Seth Rogen,Gillian Jacobs,Andrew Rannells,Zazie Beetz,Walton Goggins,Jason Mantzoukas,Mae Whitman,Chris Diamantopoulos,Malese Jow,Kevin Michael Richardson,Grey Griffinand Max Burkholderjoined the cast of the series.Despite Rogen being involved as a part of the cast, he and Goldberg are not set to direct/write/produce the series, like they were set with the initial film. On July 18, 2020, Robert Kirkman confirmed the casting in a live video on his Twitter.

Invincible is the son of Omni-Man, an extraterrestrial superhero of the Viltrumiterace. Invincible inherited his father’s superhuman strength and ability to fly and he has sworn to protect the Earth. As a teenager he had trouble adjusting to his newfound powers and coping with the reality of his origins.
