A “LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special” Is Coming To Disney+

“The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special” reunites Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose and the droids for a joyous feast on Life Day. Rey sets off on a new adventure with BB-8 to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force. At a mysterious Jedi Temple, she is hurled into a cross-timeline adventure through beloved moments in Star Wars cinematic history, coming into contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan and other iconic heroes and villains from all nine Skywalker saga films. But will she make it back in time for the Life Day feast and learn the true meaning of holiday spirit?

The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special is directed by Ken Cunningham, written by David Shayne, and brought to life by Atomic Cartoons.

“It was completely anathema to talk about doing a holiday special within the halls of Lucasfilm for years,” Lucasfilm VP James Waugh said in a recent interview. “But the truth is, it’s part of our tapestry. It’s part of our story. And fans have embraced it in a kind of ironic, fun way. And we’re not doing the Holiday Special. It’s more honoring the elements of that holiday special that have lingered with the franchise.”

In order to stream The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special on November 17, you’ll need a Disney+ subscription, which costs $6.99 per month or $69.99 for a full year.
