HipsterZOMBIEJoint Movie Review: Fatman

If you ever wanted to see actor Mel Gibson take on the role of Santa Claus and fight a deranged hitman while his elves make weapons for the military…well Fatman is the film for you!

This bloody Christmas film is written and directed by Eshom Nelms and Ian Nelms and stars Mel Gibson, Walton Goggins and Marianne Jean-Baptiste. David Gordon Green and Danny McBrideserve as executive producers of the film. The plot follows an unorthodox Santa Clauswho must fight off an assassin sent by a vengeful naughty kid.

Business ain’t what it used to be for Santa and his elves. With the rise of social media and a unappreciative generation of kids turning vicious, Santa has become disenfranchised and his present output has dropped dramatically. So much so the elves have been hired by the US government to build weapons just so Santa’s workshop can stay open. However, debt is Santa’s least biggest problem. When a spiteful brat, who received coal on Christmas, hires a hitman (Walter Goggins) with a long-time grudge against Santa, Santa has to not only defend his home but also have a bloody fight to the death with the hitman that is Terminator-esque in his execution.

The film is a bloody satire that is the love child of Lethal Weapon and Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale.

The film is just weird and gonzo enough to keep you invested up to the bloody conclusion that sees Santa and the hitman have a shootout in the snow.

It’s not your typical Christmas film and is most definitely one you should NOT watch with the kiddos, but it is an enjoyable watch. Crack open a beer and when you kids are asleep on Christmas night out this on and enjoy. This HipsterZOMBIEJoint recommends DEVOURING the film, Fatman.
