Despite Marvel films being put on hold, the Marvel Studios spin-off streaming shows are in production. One such show is the Jeremy Renner/Hawkeye Disney + show. The series will serve as a passing of the torch to new Hawkeye, Kate Bishop. Bishop is played by Pitch Perfect star Hailee Steinfeld.

Steinfeld initially denied being cast as Kate Bishop, who’s set to take over the Hawkeye mantle from Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton. But the cat is surely out of the bag now. And Marvel Studios is slowly assembling their next generation of Avengers.
It’s been a busy time for Hawkeye series news. On the casting front, Florence Pugh (from Black Widow), Vera Farmiga, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Alaqua Cox and Zahn McClarnon were announced as cast members last week. Farmiga (The Conjuring, Bates Motel) will reportedly play Kate’s mother Eleanor Bishop.
Renner joined the picture party, posting last week on Instagram, a snap of himself, Steinfeld and Lucky the Pizza Dog, aka Kate Bishop’s canine sidekick, strolling around New York City.
Young Avengers Special revealed that sometime prior to joining the team Kate Bishop was brutally attacked in (what appears to be) Central Park. At first, the incident left Kate traumatized, but then it spurred her to engage in intense combat training.
Kate Bishop is the third character and first female to take the Hawkeye name, after Clint Barton of the Avengers and Wyatt McDonald of the Squadron Supreme. Her costume appearance is patterned on the first Hawkeye and Mockingbird.
No release date has been set for the Hawkeye Disney + series.
