The secret is out, when Tom Holland plays Spider-Man in the third installment of the film he will be coming face to face with Spider-Men from alternate universe…and their villains. Classic villains from the original Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man films will be crossing over and Marvel Studios is spending a lot of money to make this happen.
Jamie Foxx had already signed on to reprise his role as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in the movie, but it turns out that was only the beginning. It was also recently confirmed that Alfred Molina would return as Doctor Octopus, a role he first played in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2.
If the most recent batch of speculation is to be believed, though, Sony and Marvel are far from finished. Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman, Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio and a couple of Green Goblins by the names of Willem Dafoe and Dane DeHaan are also said to be in talks, but according to insider Daniel Richtman, there’s still more to come, as he claims that Michael Keaton’s Vulture and Michael Mando’s Scorpion may be involved, along with Tom Hardy’s Venom.
Other rumored and semi confirmed appearances in the film is Charlie Cox reprising the role of Matt Murdock, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield as Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker and finally Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire as the original Spider-Man & Mary Jane Watson.
Spider-Man 3 is expected to debut in theaters December 2021.
