Netflix’s “To All The Boys” trilogy of films has been a absolute blast to watch. They are reminiscent of the classic John Hughes teenage romantic comedies of the 80s while still being something completely new and fresh. Always and Forever sees Lara Jean and her boyfriend Peter closing the chapter on their high school life and getting ready to enter into adulthood by traveling and going to college. However, the future might not be the one they envisioned together.
The film is directed by Michael Fimognari and stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo. The film is based on Jenny Han‘s 2017 novel Always and Forever, Lara Jean and is a sequel to To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020), and the third and final installment in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film trilogy.
It’s a bittersweet ending fir fans of the franchise. We watched as Lara and Peter awkwardly first met, dealt with relationship issues, fell in love, and now at a crossroads with what to do with the relationship they worked so hard on.
Like it’s characters, the film has undeniable charm and appeal but knows just how to leave the franchise in an open ended yet satisfying way. Not to mention the film features a song that will no doubt be the wedding song for many couples going forward:
The HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience highly recommends checking out this romcom with your loved one this Valentine Day.
