Amazon Cancels Simon Pegg/Nick Frost Series, “Truth Seekers,” After One Season

Amazon has officially pulled the plug on the Simon Pegg, Nick Frost supernatural comedy series, Truth Seekers, after one season. I am not too broken up about this. I binged the first 3 episodes and then never went back to it. It spent a lot of time on build up with very little pay off and jokes that missed more than hit. Nick Frost had this to say via social media:

“Get ready to be rocked with some bad news,” Frost said in an Instagram video on Friday. “Sadly, ‘Truth Seekers’ will not be returning for a second season. ‘Truth Seekers’ has not been renewed, which is a massive kick in the willy for me. We really put our all into this, our heart and soul and blood in some cases — so to not come back is really sad for us. It’s a shame.”

“Truth Seekers” followed a team of part-time paranormal investigators using homemade gadgets to track the supernatural, sharing their adventures online. Their haunted stakeouts became more terrifying as they began to uncover “an unimaginable, apocalyptic conspiracy,” according to the show’s logline.

In addition to creators Frost and Pegg, “Truth Seekers” also starred Malcolm McDowell, Samson Kayo, Susan Wokoma and Emma D’Arcy.

“Truth Seekers” had reunited frequent movie collaborators Frost and Pegg for the first time on television since “Spaced.
