Zack Snyder has more than his Snyder Cut coming our way soon. In between going on a hiatus and a return to the director’s chair to complete his version of Justice League, the director shot an action-packed zombie heist film for Netflix. Snyder’s last zombie film, the remake of Dawn of the Dead was nearly 20 years ago. It still holds up as a frightening reimagining of one of the most iconic zombie films of all time.
The movie is coming to Netflix on May 21, and the teaser trailer will take a bite out of the internet on Thursday.
In the meantime, you can check out a brand new behind the scenes shot below, which comes courtesy of Vanity Fair today. It gives us our first look at the zombies we’ll be meeting in Army of the Dead, and this one in particular is about to be blasted away by Dave Bautista…
Vanity Fair describes Army of the Dead as being “visceral, funny, and exceedingly dark.”
In the film:
“Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries takes the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.”
From the director of Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen, and Man of Steel, comes Army of the Dead, starring Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Tig Notaro, Raúl Castillo, Huma Qureshi, Samantha Win, Richard Cetrone and Michael Cassidy.
