“Y The Last Man” & “American Horror Stories” Headline FX’s Line-Up Of New Shows

New Ryan Murphy anthology series American Horror Stories, Taika Waititi comedy series Reservation Dogs, and post-apocalyptic Y: The Last Man based on the acclaimed DC Comics’ series are just some of the upcoming FX on Hulu series to look forward to in 2021.

Another highly anticipated series is The Old Man. Jeff Bridges will play Dan Chase, a retired CIA officer who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past.

Reservation Dogs is a coming-of-age comedy that will follow the story of four Native American teenagers in rural Oklahoma who spend their days committing crime… and fighting it. The series will be led by D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Creeped Out) as Bear, Devery Jacobs (American Gods) as Elora Danan, Paulina Alexis (Beans) as Willie Jack, and newcomer Lane Factor as Cheese.

Based on Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s graphic novels of the same name, Y: The Last Man will be set in a post-apocalyptic world wherein a cataclysmic event has killed every male mammal save for one lone human. It will traverse a world of women — exploring gender, race, class, and survival.

Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Stories will serve as a companion anthology series to the long-running mothership series, with each episode serving as a standalone ghost story. One of the 16 episodes will be directed by American Horror Story alum Sarah Paulson.

Also on tap are new seasons of Mayans M.C.Breeders, the documentary feature Hysterical, and Cake, featuring Peter Huang’s Nine Films About Technology, a series of darkly comedic live-action stories about human relationships in this modern age of smart phones, social media and connectivity.
