The Theatrical Cut of Justice League (aka The Joss-tice League) had many faults but none more glaring than its horribly rendered CGI villain, Steppenwolf, who didn’t look imposing whatsoever and could have passed for Playstation 2 video game cutscene. The original design of the character will finally be realized in the Snyder Cut that depicts the character as a demonic looking hulking brute covered in battle armor, with Darkseid looming in the background looking just as menacing. Part of the problem with the Joss-tice League was that Steppenwolf never seemed like he posed a big enough threat to the League and the hordes parademons just seemed like a nuisance. Here the parademons appear more of an invading force.
Also released today is an ominous looking all-new Justice League poster that features the league and Darkseid. Check it out below:
Zack Snyder’s Justice League, often referred to as the “Snyder Cut“, is the upcoming director’s cut of the 2017 American superhero film Justice League. It presents Justice League—the fifth film of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and based on the DC Comics superhero team of the same name—as director Zack Snyder had planned it before he left the film’s production. Like the theatrical release, Zack Snyder’s Justice League follows the Justice League: Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and The Flash (Ezra Miller), as they attempt to save the world from the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is scheduled to be released via HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
