HipsterZOMBIEJoint New Music Friday Picks 3/19/21

Lots of great new albums are dropping today to get us rockin’ through the weekend! All of these albums and more are now streaming on Apple Music and Spotify.

CHEMTRIALS OVER THE COUNTRY CLUB – LANA DEL REY

Per Variety:

With the new “Chemtrails Over the Country Club,” that low-key vibe is languid even by Lana standards. It dispenses with most of the orchestrations and lush keyboards of its predecessor, “Norman Fucking Rockwell,” and keeps the tempos slow and the arrangements much more spare, with long passages accompanied only by guitar or keyboard.

ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE SOUNDTRACK – TOM HOLKENBORG

Per MovieWeb:

Unquestionably, the album does showcase the best of Tom Holkenborg, who was inspired to put everything he had into the opus. The soundtrack highlights his full spectrum as a composer, and draws on his experience as a rock producer, electronic music producer, his world music collaborations, and love of classical orchestration and classical film scoring. Yet even with that wide ranging stylistic mix, this body of work brilliantly illuminates a passionate cohesiveness amidst a more aggressive and more dramatic offering than anything the composer has previously put forth.

HIDDEN GEMS – THE BLUE STONES

Per Side Stage Magazine:

Alternative-rock duo The Blue Stones have released their highly-anticipated sophomore album, Hidden Gems, out today on Entertainment One (eOne). Across the ten songs on the album, the band pairs rock anthems built to be played in a stadium with layered, R&B leaning numbers and moody, grunge tracks. On Hidden Gems, the band worked with famed producer Paul Meany (Mutemath, Twenty One Pilots, LANY), who helped the duo explore and create music in a new way, as well as discover themselves throughout the writing process. Composed of Tarek Jafar (vocals/guitar) and Justin Tessier (drums/vocals), the band learned confidence and strength-of-self. This personal growth led to their most honest lyrics to date, tackling accepting your strengths and weaknesses, dealing with heartbreak, and the reality of bad habits.

HEAVY IS THE CROWN (SINGLE) CHRIS DAUGHTRY

Per HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience:

On Thursday, Daughtry gave fans another taste of his still-unnamed forthcoming record today with the release of a new single, “Heavy is the Crown.” The song is the follow up to last year’s hard rocker, “World on Fire,” and Daughtry hints that the two songs are part of a bigger picture once the video he just filmed last week makes its debut. The song in a lot of ways is about him rediscovering himself musically and his sudden break-up with RCA Records.

Come back next week for a fresh batch of new music picks only on the HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience!
