Lots of great new albums are dropping today to get us rockin’ through the weekend! All of these albums and more are now streaming on Apple Music and Spotify.
The Bitter Truth – Evanescence
Per Metal Injection:
It’s an album packed with energy and emotion, with several heavy songs and a few that are on the mellower side. Though there are some modern touches on some tracks, overall the album is firmly ensconced in Evanescence’s comfort zone. It doesn’t push toward many new horizons, but playing to their strengths makes for a potent collection of songs.
Is 4 Lovers – Death From Above 1979
Death From Above still pack a punch, but the bruise is a lot more colourful this time. ‘Is 4 Lovers’ is surely the band’s best work since their debut. And while they may never feel that vital again, they make right now feel like one helluva rush.
Per American Songwriter:
If one is to judge by the millions of streams that AJR has amassed over the past few weeks just from new releases, it would see that the trio is doing rather well. They are achieving their goals. The brothers are threading the near impossible needle of creative success, audience adoration and critical appeal.
Godzilla vs Kong Score – Tom Holkenborg
Per HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience:
Using colossal custom made instruments and thunderous drum beats was the only way to score Godzilla vs Kong. Holkenborg doesn’t rely on the classic Akira Ifukube themes (even if they are missed here) instead he has created unique and distinct themes for the film’s two monsters. The soundtrack might not be iconic, but it does produce a nice audio landscape around the biggest monster fight of the year!
Come back next week for a fresh batch of new music picks only on the HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience!
