Remember when the Fast 9 trailer premiered with John Cena being revealed as Vin Diesel’s long lost brother; Han back from the dead; swinging cars; and all the crazy stuff we have come to expect from the Fast franchise? That was a year ago. COVID-19 happened and we were left with a Summer devoid of a Fast & Furious sequel. Well, now it’s back on as a new trailer for Fast 9 has dropped today with a new release date set for June 25th.
In F9, Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, the upcoming The Suicide Squad). Directed by Justin Lin, the film also stars Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel and Sung Kang, with Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.
F9 arrives on June 25, 2021.
