21 Savage executive produced the music for the new movie Spiral: From the Book of Saw. Ahead of the film’s May 14 release, he’s shared the single “Spiral.” Hear the soundtrack cut, produced by Kid Hazel, below.
21 Savage is one of the many guest artists on DJ Khaled’s new record Khaled Khaled, rapping on the track “LET IT GO.” Earlier this year, 21 Savage featured on Pooh Shiesty’s Shiesty Season. The rapper collaborated with Metro Boomin on Savage Mode II last year.
For the franchise’s ninth installment, 21 calls back to what’s helped make the previous films so special by sharing his own spin on the iconic Saw theme song. Giving the Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson film some extra savagery, 21 floats over the trap-infused rendition of the theme otherwise known as “Hello Zepp.”
In the “Spiral” video, 21 can be seen hanging by his feet from a bathroom ceiling and starring as an impromptu butcher. And between scenes, he pops up in front of the film’s go-to spiral imagery, which has been used in promotional photos and posters leading up to the May 14 release.
Check out the premise for the film below:
Working in the shadow of esteemed police veteran Marcus Banks (Samuel L. Jackson), his estranged son, brash detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner, detective William Schenk (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly trapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.
