This Father’s Day weekend, Kevin Hart stars in a heartwarming, funny and emotional true story about a widower taking on one of the toughest jobs in the world: fatherhood. Alfre Woodard, Lil Rel Howery, DeWanda Wise, Anthony Carrigan, and Paul Reiser round out this all-star cast.
The comedy is based on the book, Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss and Love, which details American author, Matthew Logelin’s courtship and marriage, as well as the moments surrounding his wife’s death and the first year of his daughter’s life without her mother.
Fatherhood was initially scheduled to be released on April 3, 2020, but on January 6, 2020, it was delayed to January 8, 2021. Later that year, it was pushed week to January 15, 2021. On March 30, 2020, it was brought forward to October 23, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On April 24, 2020, it was delayed to April 2, 2021. On November 19, 2020, it got delayed once again to April 16, 2021. It was then announced that Netflix had licensed the film from Sony Pictures Releasing and will be releasing it digitally on June 18, 2021.
