Looks like we’ll be getting a sequel to the 2019 horror/thriller CRAWL! In a recent interview with Bloody Disgusting, director Alexandre Aja shared that they’ve, “been talking about a sequel nonstop, and putting together a really, really fun take. I think the story of Haley is a really strong one, but I believe that Crawl is about nature taking back its due, and kind of like… more hurricane driven, man versus animal. So maybe it will be another story altogether We’re looking for that human story right now, that will be as strong as the one in the first one. To make the second one legit.” Would you be excited for another film with a new set of characters?Crawl grossed $39 million in the United States and Canada, and $55.5 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $91.5 million against a production budget of $13–15 million. Marketed as a counterprogramming option for moviegoers, the film’s box office performance was seen as a commercial success. On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 84% of 202 reviews are positive, with an average rating of 6.5/10. The site’s critical consensus reads, “An action-packed creature feature that’s fast, terrifying, and benefits greatly from a completely game Kaya Scodelario, Crawl is a fun throw-back with just enough self-awareness to work.” We at the HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience absolutely loved Crawl for its intensity and ferocious yet realistic depiction of ravenous crocodiles. It would be interesting to see where a sequel could go, what do you think? Let us know in the comments.
