While Marvel is delving into alternate timelines, DC Comics is also set to explore its own multiverse via the upcoming Flash film. Not only is Michael Keaton reprising the role of Batman from the 1989 film, but Ben Affleck will once again be donning the cape and cowl as evidenced from these images from the set below:
The photos are from the set in Glasgow where The Flash is now shooting exteriors. We get a decent look at Ben Affleck’s Batsuit and the Batcycle he will ride, but to be very clear, there is no indication or reason to believe that is Affleck in the costume.
There had been numerous rumors that we would not be seeing Affleck suit up for this film, but that idea has now definitely been shot down.
The Flash is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Produced by DC Films, The Disco Factory, and Double Dream, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is intended to be the twelfth film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, and stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash alongside Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdú, and Ron Livingston. In The Flash, Allen travels back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, which brings unintentional consequences.
The Flash is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in the United States on November 4, 2022.
