Mutants. It’s the bedrock of the Marvel Universe. The X-Men is one of the Crown Jewels of Marvel that have yet to make their appearance in the MCU but that is expected to change at some point. Now that Disney owns Fox Studios they own the greatest superhero team next to the Avengers and all of their supporting and spin-off characters such as Deadpool, the New Mutants, and of course, Wolverine. It’s highly unlikely that Marvel Studios will be bringing any actor over to the MCU aside from Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. No, the entire X-Franchise will have to go through a complete reboot.
Well HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience thinks it’s time that we throw our own suggestions into the hat of who we think could should be cast in a new X-Men film with our favorite column, “Role Call.” Thanks to the app Reface (which you can download in the Apple store) we can see what these actor suggestions would look like in the costumes of the characters. So get ready to be astonished by the uncanny suggestions we have for the all new, all different X-Men in Role Call #15
Jeffrey Wright as Professor X
Very few actors have the gravitas to pull off the commanding role of Charles Xavier. You must exude power while being depicted with a handicap. Wright is no stranger to the MCU having voiced the Watcher in the animated What If series. We think he would be great as Professor X.
Ashley Greene as Jean Grey
Greene knows what it’s like to star in big franchises like Twilight. She has the strength cute but approachable look to be the telekinetic powered Jean Grey.
Robbie Amell as Cyclops
Having played the superhero Firestorm for multiple seasons on CW’s The Flash, taking on the role of Cyclops will be like a walk in the park for Amell. He looks like he could pull off the role of the no nonsense all business field leader of the X-Men.
CM Punk as Wolverine
Punk is enjoying a resurgence in popularity right now with his return to wrestling on AEW. For the role of Wolverine you want some who looks like he has weathered a lot of battles and there’s no one better than Punk!
Jordan Peele as Beast
For the role of the Beast I wanted to find an actor who has good comedic timing but also looks like he could have an engaging scientific discussion with you. Jordan Peele might be happy directing and producing these days but perhaps the MCU can sway him to be in front of the camera for the X-Men.
Alexander Ludwig as Gambit
Heels star, Ludwig only needs a Cajun accent to pull off the role of Gambit. His wrestling skills from the ring in Heels would help showcase the fighting ability of the card throwing X-Man.
Alexandra Daddario as Rogue
Daddario has been fancast in multiple roles for comic book films because she herself looks like an animated character. She could bring the sexiness and southern belle charm to a new interpretation of Rogue.
Olivia Munn as Psylocke
This was perfect casting. Next to Ryan Reynolds the MCU should make it a day one priority to bring Munn back to the X-Films.
Janelle Monae as Storm
She can sing, act, and kick ass. So why not Monae for the most powerful X-Man, Storm. She exudes the confidence and regality to be an African Queen turned superhero.
Giancarlo Esposito as Magneto
Like Professor X you need an actor of statue and command to play Magneto. Who better than Esposito who has already played two iconic villains on Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian.
Margot Robbie as Mystique
Robbie said in a recent interview she would love to be in an X-Men film but didn’t say as who. Why not the shape shifting Mystique?
Ryan Hurst as Sabertooth
Sons of Anarchy and Walking Dead star Ryan Hurst has the size and intimidation factor to play the most animalistic and violent mutant out there, Sabertooth!
Well that’s who we would like to see play the new X-Men on the big screen but what do you think? Who should the MCU cast? Let us know in the comments and as always stay tuned for more future Role Calls only on The HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience!
