The Korean Netflix series, “Squid Game” has taken the world by storm. Smashing streaming records, launching memes left and right, and has everyone talking about it. So it’s only natural we here at the HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience should start pondering who should be cast in an American remake. Check out the stars we chose below:
Seong-Gi Hun – Mark Duplass
You need an everyday average man to play the lead here but one that equally pour on the charm but also excel when dramatic scenes call for it. Why Mark Duplass from “The Morning Show” and “Creep.”
Cho Sang-Woo – Hamish Linklater
To play the part of Cho Sang Woo you need someone who looks like he would be the smartest man. Linklater used scripture and faith to lead a mob of vampires in “Midnight Mass” and after seeing his acting ability in that I would love to see him an American remake of Squid Game.
Kang Sae-Byeok – Maisie Williams
To play the badass Kang Sae-Byeok you need an actress who is equally badass. Why not Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams. She was one of the winners in Game of Thrones, I’m sure she’d stand a chance on Squid Game.
Oh Il-Nam – Danny Glover
Danny Glover has faced Predators and Mel Gibson, so the Squid Game would be nothing to him. Besides at his age he would be perfect for the role of the elder, Oh Il-Nam.
Ji-Yeong – Jenna Ortega
Ortega is a rising star that would be great as the jaded Ji-Yeong. As seen in shows like “You” and “The Babysitter 2” she knows how to play a smart mouth know it all very well.
Ali Abdul – Rahul Kohli
Ali Abdul is one of the most selfless players in Squid Game. Despite trying to avoid death traps at every corner, he puts the well being of his teammates first. “iZombie” & “Midnight Mass” actor, Rahul Kohli, would be perfect in this role.
Jang Deok-Su – Lakeith Stanfield
Lakeith is another one of those up and coming actors who bring the intensity and dramatic tension needed to pull off the series villain, Deok-Su.
Mi-Nyeo – Regina Hall
Just watch Hulu’s “Nine Perfect Strangers” and you’ll know why Regina would be amazing in this role.
The Frontman – David Tennant

Whether he’s traveling through time and space in a tardis or is a manipulative serial killer, Tennant always knows how to become a fan favorite. He would be perfect as the Frontman.
Well that’s who we would like to see in a possible American remake of “Squid Game” Agree? Disagree? Who would you cast? Let us know in the comments and as always stay tuned for more future Role Calls only on The HipsterZOMBIEJoint Experience!
