Disney Day was full of surprises across the board on Friday and a sequel to the beloved Amy Adams film, “Enchanted” was one of them.
As part of Disney+ Day on Friday, Nov. 12, the streamer released a short video clip of Adams and co-star Patrick Dempsey together to announce that the long-awaited sequel to their beloved 2007 film, Enchanted, is officially on the way.

“We know that you have been wishing for our movie Enchanted to be available on Disney+,” Adams said.
Dempsey added, “And we also know you’ve been wishing for a sequel.”
“Today, we are here to tell you that fairy tales do come true.” Adams said with a smile.
Titled Disenchanted, the film, which was first announced at the Disney Investor Day conference in December 2020, is set for a fall 2022 release. In addition to the sequel, Dempsey also shared that Enchanted is available to stream on the platform now.
The long-awaited sequel was filmed earlier this summer and it’s set to bring back all of your favourites from the first movie, including James Marsden as Prince Edward and Idina Menzel as Nancy Tremaine.
Disenchanted takes place a decade after the original movie with Giselle questioning her happily-ever-after life, accidentally setting in motion events that turn everybody’s lives upside-down in the real world and in the cartoon land of Andalasia.
Adams has teased that the sequel features more dancing and singing for the cast, which turned out to be a bit of a challenge. “The last time I really danced as much as I’m required to dance in this, I was in my 20s and now I’m not in my 20s,” she explained on The Tonight Show.
Disenchanted will be released on Disney+ in Autumn 2022.
