Per mercwiththemovies:
The “Train to Busan” remake has received an official title. The remake will be titled “Last Train to New York”, and will move the zombie action from Seoul in Korea to New York. The original took place mostly on a train from Seoul to Busan as a zombie apocalypse suddenly breaks out in the country and threatens the safety of the passengers.
The film will be produced by James Wan (“Saw”, “The Conjuring”, “Insidious”) and will be directed by Timo Tjahjanto (“Headshot” and “The Night Comes For Us”). Tjahjanto will direct the film from a script by Gary Dauberman (“It”, and the “Annabelle” trilogy).
The original is one of the best zombie films ever made. With its likable characters, claustrophobic intensity, and sheer horror Train To Busan added something new to the zombie genre that had gotten stale.
On one hand I can’t wait to see an American remake of this film. However on the other hand like Let The Right One In, America can’t replicate certain international aesthetics.
