It’s no secret that WWE has been cutting talent left and right but today’s release comes at kind of a surprise. Jeff Hardy is no longer with the WWE.
During a house show recently, Hardy looked winded and at one point deserted his tag team partners and just wandered off into the crowd with security personal in pursuit.
Hardy has had a long history with alcohol and substance abuse and WWE has sent him to rehab before but this time Hardy declined. So WWE released him.
Matt Hardy, who currently works for All Elite Wrestling, provided an update on his brother Jeff during his Twitch stream on Monday, according to Wrestling News.co.
“I did speak to Jeff for a little bit today and he’s OK, he’s good,” Matt Hardy said. “I think he’ll be fine but once again, this isn’t my business and if he wants to go into it in more detail then he’ll do it himself. Jeff is OK. He is at home and he is OK. It’s not my business. It’s not my story to tell or explain and besides that, I wouldn’t be able to do it justice anyway because it’s not from my perspective so I love my brother and I just want my brother to be okay and healthy.”
A WWE spokesperson couldn’t be immediately reached for comment by The Post. They were most likely deciding which wrestler to let go next right before Christmas…
