Netflix has dropped off the official trailer for its upcoming action film Fistful of Vengeance, which is set to premiere on the streamer on February 17.
The movie arrives a follow-up to Netflix’s supernatural martial arts series Wu Assassins, which follows legendary fighter Kai Jin, played by Iko Uwais, as he attempts to regain ownership over an ancient amulet.
Fistful of Vengeance sees the return of Uawis in the role of Kai Jin, along with several other members of the original cast. Kai discovers that he is the last of the Wu Assassins while working at a Chinese-Indonesian restaurant in San Francisco and ultimately must chase down a killer after the restaurant’s owner, Jenny Wah (Li Jun Li), is murdered. Kai enlists his friends Lu Xin (Lewis Tan) and Tommy (Lawrence Kao) to embark on a journey from San Francisco’s Chinatown to Bangkok, Thailand, where they encounter several old and new enemies.
Fistful of Vengeance will see the Wu Assassin team reunite in Bangkok to avenge the death of one of their own, only to find that their new enemy is an ancient threat armed with otherworldly powers.
Fans of the series were wondering if the show was ever going to get wrapped up or if Netflix was going to flat-out cancel it, but when COVID-19 hit, the series was left in limbo. Nice to see that this series unlike some other Netflix shows that were canceled because of the pandemic, is getting some kind of continuation.
