After working on the Snyderverse and the upcoming “Thor:Love and Thunder”, Oscar winner Russell Crowe is dipping his toes into the comic book genre again. He has joined Golden Globe winner Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Sony’s “Kraven The Hunter” film that will arrive in theaters on January 13, 2023. Oscar nominee J.C. Chandor (“Margin Call”, “A Most Violent Year”). Chandor is directing from a script by duo of Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (“Iron Man) and Richard Wenk (“The Equalizer”).
I personally don’t feel Kraven should get his own solo film but much like “Venom” and the forthcoming “Morbius,” this is another attempt by is Sony to take a character that is typically a villain and painting him as more of an anti-hero. As the title implies, Kraven tells the story of a man that is an accomplished big game hunter. However, in the comics, he’s introduced as a formidable foe for Spidey, as the hunter aims to take on his most challenging prey yet, Spider-Man. That obviously won’t be the story the story that’s told here so we just gotta wait and see.
