Apple has renewed their excellent murder mystery comedy series “The Afterparty” for season 2, with Emmy winner Emmy winner Tiffany Haddish returning as Detective Danner. The series comes from Oscar winners Phil Lord and Chris Miller (“Spider-Man:Into The Spider-Verse”, “21 Jump Street”), with Miller directing and serving as showrunner.
The murder mystery is told in a “Rashomon” style, with each episode told from the perspective of a different person each with its own unique visual format and film genre to match the teller’s personality.
The series has been a surprise hit for the streamer and puts an interesting spin on the whodunit genre.
The first season is streaming now on Apple TV+.
