Paramount isn’t wasting any time with the next Scream film. The 2022 reboot/sequel was a huge hit that respected the previous films while introducing a likable new group of characters that can easily take over the reigns of the franchise.
As reported by Variety, Ghostface’s latest will arrive in cinemas on March 31, 2023.
Production is due to begin this summer from the same team who created the incredibly successful Scream (2022). Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct while James Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherakre will produce.
Courteney Cox has also revealed that she’s returning for Scream 6 as news reporter Gale Weathers, who she’s played in every iteration of the franchise so far.
When Paramount and Spyglass first announced the film, the companies said in a joint statement: “We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film. We can’t wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie and Guy, and Project X have in store for our Woodsboro family.”
Scream (2022) brought in $30.6 million at the North American box office when it was released in January, ending Spider-Man: No Way Home’s four-week streak at number one.
Scream is one of the most successful slasher franchises of all time and it’s no wonder the series has endured for almost two decades delivering chills and scares to a rabid fanbase.
