Upon receiving a terminal diagnosis, Sarah opts for a cloning procedure to ease her loss on her friends and family. When she makes a sudden and miraculous recovery, her attempts to have her clone decommissioned fail and lead to a court-mandated duel to the death. Now she has one year to train her body and mind for the fight of her life.
Its like “Gemini Man,” only not a total shitfest! This initially premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year playing in the main competition, but got pretty bad reviews from most critics who watched it. It’s a very low key sci-fi in that has a “futuristic” concept involving cloning. A woman opts for a cloning procedure after she receives a terminal diagnosis but when she recovers her attempts to have her clone decommissioned fail, leading to a court-mandated duel to the death with her other self. Let them fight! Karen Gillan stars opposite Karen Gillan, along with Aaron Paul, Beulah Koale, Maija Paunio, and Theo James.
Dual is written and directed by Riley Stearns, who became known across film festivals for his previous films Faults and, most notably, the action-comedy The Art of Self-Defense which I absolutely loved. Really looking forward to this.
