Sony is determined to make their Spider-Man Universe of Films succeed or die trying. Their latest big screen endeavor?
El Muerto.
Per Mercwiththemovies:
Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny just got his biggest acting gig as he will join the Marvel universe, as he will play the lead in Sony’s “El Muerto”, which will arrive in theaters on January 12, 2024. This will be the first Latin superhero to get his own movie from Marvel.

This is a perfect character for him given his love for wrestling and the fact that’s he’s fought in WWE a couple of times.
El Muerto aka Juan Carlos was a super powered wrestler who originally fought Spider-Man in a charity wrestling bout where he nearly unmasked Spider-Man before being stung by Spider-Man, with a paralyzing poison. After being saved from the hospital by Spider-Man after his opressor El Dorado came to claim his life, the two would team up to defeat Dorado.
Okay, on paper this should be a massive WTF that has box office bomb written all over it. However, don’t underestimate the popularity of Bad Bunny. His fanbase is massive and not to be ignored.
