I hate when fan favorite wrestlers step away from the sport. The former WWE and current Impact wrestling stars, the IInspiration (aka The IICONICS, aka Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay) have decided to hang up the wrestling boots.
McKay and Lee posted the same statement on their Twitter accounts this morning announcing the news.
Former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Tag Team Champions The ‘IInspiration (Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay) confirmed today that they will be indefinitely stepping away from in-ring action.
“The Inspiration have been a great part of IMPACT’s Knockouts roster and wonderful to work with,” said IMPACT Executive Vice-President Scott D’Amore. “Cassie and Jessie are incredibly talented performers. Everyone at IMPACT wishes them every success in the future.”
The IInspiration issued a joint statement: “We first want to thank Scott D’Amore and the entire IMPACT family. “We have had such an amazing experience, working with the incredible IMPACT staff and roster. We will cherish these IMPACT memories forever. We are excited to start a new chapter in our lives and explore other opportunities that may come our way.”
They signed with WWE in 2015 where they started out in NXT. WWE released McKay and Lee, the former Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, in April 2021. The IInspiration made their Impact debut at Bound For Glory later that year where they defeated Decay (Havok and Rosemary) to win the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Since then, they had been booked as a top team in the division.
The IInspiration is the only tag team to hold both the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships and the Impact Knockouts Tag Team Titles.

In my opinion, the IInspiration/IICONICS were always a better version of the Bella Twins. Two hot as hell female heels who were snobby and loved to hate. They also achieved a lot more than the Bellas did, at least in the squared circle.
Hopefully this isn’t the last time we see or hear from this amazing tag team…
