While Game of Thrones fans are still trying the wash the sour taste left in their mouths from the much maligned series finale and continue to patiently wait for author George R.R. Martin to finish the final GoT book, a first look teaser for House of the Dragon has dropped!
House of the Dragon, which premieres on August 21, comes from George R.R. Martin, Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik.
The Game of Thrones prequel stars Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Fabien Frankel. Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best and Sonoya Mizuno.
Based on Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series takes place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones. It focuses on the House Targaryen.
Considine plays King Viserys Targaryen. Cooke stars as Alicent Hightower, D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen and Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, known as the Sea Snake, who becomes Hand to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen during the Dance of the Dragons.
In the show’s latest trailer, King Viserys Targaryen, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Prince Daemon Targaryen want nothing more than to further ensure that their family’s control over Wesreros’ other power players remains intact.
But the Targaryen family’s infighting — to say nothing of the inbreeding — creates the perfect opportunity for their conniving rivals from Houses Stark, Velaryon, and Lannister to make plays for the Iron Throne and destroy the true source of the ruling family might: their magical winged beasts.
