Disney+ Star Wars series, Obi Wan Kenobi is set to premiere on the streaming service at the end of May. Aside from being a prequel series set after Revenge of the Sith but before A New Hope, not too much is known about the upcoming event series. However, according to Star Wars News Net, their sources are stating that Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea has landed a role in the upcoming series. Who Flea will play is unspecified.
But what’s the connection between Obi-Wan show and RHCP? The director of the show, Deborah Chow, also directed the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ new music video for the band’s single, “Black Summer,” from the group’s new album, Unlimited Love, which dropped earlier this year.
Rupert Friend, who plays the Grand Inquisitor in Obi-Wan Kenobi, recently teased in an interview with Hey U Guysthat the show will feature “wonderful cameos”.
“I think it’s one of the most thrilling additions to the Star Wars canon,” Friend said. “I think Ewan McGregor is doing things with that role that is a dream for fans of the original films… we can’t obviously have Alec Guinness back, but I just think Ewan was absolutely born to play that part.
Alongside McGregor and Friend, Obi-Wan Kenobi will star Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Indira Varma and Sung Kang. Child actor Grant Feely, who received Mark Hamill’s seal of approval, will also play young Luke Skywalker.
