Stranger Things Meets Star Wars In The Upcoming Lucasfilm Disney+ Series “Skeleton Crew”

2 time Oscar nominee Jude Law has joined the cast of the Disney+ series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”. The series comes from director Jon Watts (MCU “Spider-Man” trilogy) and screenwriter Chris Ford, who has written “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, “Cop Car” and “Clown” for Watts. Jon Favreu and Dave Filoni are producers on the series.
The series is set to have an Amblin feel, taking place in the New Republic era, and centering on a group of 4 kids lost in the Star Wars galaxy trying to find their way home.
It’s being described as a Stranger Things-like show and it was apparently good enough to lure Watts away from doing the Fantastic Four reboot for the MCU.
We have been wondering about other avenues Lucasfilm might take the Star Wars brand and this is very different.
