Anthony Hopkins Joins The Cast Of Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon”

2 time Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins has joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Netflix Sci-fi epic “Rebel Moon”. He will voice Jimmy, an impossibly sentient JC1435 mechanized battle robot and one-time defender of the slain King. Snyder is directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Shay Hatten (“John Wick:Parabellum”, “Army of the Dead”) and Kurt Johnstad (“Atomic Blonde”, “300”). The film has a stacked cast that includes Sofia Boutella (“Kingsman: The Secret Service”), Charlie Hunnam, 2 time Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher, Stuart Martin (“Game of Thrones”), Golden Globe nominee Corey Stoll, Carey Elwes, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein (“Deadpool”), Cleopatra Coleman (“Dopesick”), Fra Fee (“Hawkeye”), Rhian Rees (“Halloween”), Sky Yang (“Halo”) and Doona Bae (“The Host”).
The film is an intergalactic adventure that is inspired by the legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa and “Star Wars”. It will be set in motion when a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius, the desperate people dispatch a young woman (Boutella”), with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to helm them make a stand.
