We have had a few Marvel Studios and streaming shows and the Avengers have largely been MIA. Now most of them have either died, retired, or are off-world. So now we see what’s left of the Avengers and despite the cool factor of seeing Ant-Man/Wasp teaming up with Sam Wilson/Captain America, Ms Marvel, and Captain Marvel against Ultron, the fact is very clear, this team is far from being Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with this line-up.
The footage that was leaked to Twitter (see above before its taken down) is of Disney Wish’s Avengers: Quantum Encounter video reveals Ms. Marvel conversing with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson following his own encounter with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel post-battle. In the video, Carol Danvers arrives just in time to help Captain America and Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne/Wasp defeat a swarm of Ultron drones, joking that, at the heroes’ current fighting pace, “You would have been here all night.” Despite not getting the chance to meet Captain Marvel — she’s called away by to a “Kree missile” situation — Kamala arrives and is nevertheless jubilant about seeing her favorite hero in action, even spouting off some of Carol’s abilities like “going binary” to Sam’s utter confusion.
According to Walt Disney Imagineering’s Danny Handke in October 2021, Avengers: Quantum Encounter is an interactive dining experience where “our guests will be part of a real-life Avengers mission as they watch some of their favorite heroes in action.” In addition to Vellani, Mackie, Larson and Lilly, Paul Rudd reprises his roles in Quantum Encounter as Scott Lang/Ant-Man.
It’s still unclear whether Brie Larson will cameo in Ms. Marvel, which could potentially set up Kamala’s future role in The Marvels. The upcoming Phase 4 film will see Vellani co-star with Larson and Teyonah Parris, the latter reprising her role as an adult Monica Rambeau from WandaVision.
New Ms. Marvel episodes stream Wednesdays on Disney+. The Marvels premieres July 28, 2023.
